Hello Fam, welcome to the prestigious August! My month of birth!💃

AND Welcome to my annual social love campaign tagged: ‘Celebrate Me Now’. My name is Pat Obilor, the creative lead for the ‘Celebrate Me Now’ challenge which was launched in August 2020 to inspire us all, to celebrate one another while alive. I know we all have our personal struggles and life can be too demanding of our time and resources but still, we tend to be unavailable, less bothered about people that matter until they are gone or until we know they will die soon... When this happens, suddenly, we remember the good they did for us, the smiles they gave us, the recommendations and opportunities they introduced to us... etc. 


We begin to bring out pictures and videos of the phenomenal things they did while on earth and try to hide the fact that we did not care or appreciate them enough. While it is not wrong to give accolades to the dead and let the world know how important they were, I also believe it is time we celebrate people while alive. We should not wait for death to show people what they meant to us, because by then, they would not even know and this is the reason for the #CelebrateMeNowChallenge. I am grateful for the opportunity to celebrate others and myself. 

I have come to the end of my shout-out and global accolades and I have been able to capture some of your favourite celebrities born in the month of August, if you are inspired by the ‘Celebrate me Now’ campaign, why not start by celebrating yourself and other people born in your month? Or tag them in the comment section? In addition, while you do that, I urge you to go outside, take a deep breath, Inhale, and exhale the moment. Do not hesitate to take advantage of every moment to enjoy the simplicity of God’s creation, and thank God for the unique beauties and wonders of this day/month.


The simple message is, ‘Do not celebrate me when I am dead, celebrate me now.’ So keep celebrating yourself and others while alive.
