My life at NHS ELFT

Image
… In the last few months, I have worked in the (people & Culture) dept at ELFT corporate HQ, and I have had a good experience of workplace culture, teamwork, work life balance, and healthy work ethics that helped me to deliver my work effectively and I do not take it for granted. It was also awesome to be a part of Iconic Events in our Organization which strengthens our staff community such as the Staff Awards that gave us the Grammys/Emmy vibes😍, Diwali Day, and the Black History Month celebrations that rounds off the end of October.  We have a great team of incredible staff and partners that are dedicated to providing  quality service to the NHS and our local hospices community and I am so proud to be a part of it!💃 #corporatelife #gratitude #bestplacetowork #patobilor #nhsengland #diwaliday #elftuk #blackhistorymonth #nhsheroes #peopleandculture #nhsworkforce #impactleaders #thankyou❤️💐

Global Day of Prayer for the Media

Image
“In a world inundated with information, the media has the responsibility to discern truth from falsehood, to shed light on injustice, and to inspire hope. Its potential for positive change is boundless.” - Desmond Tutu  When I was given this global prayer assignment for the Media, I casually said, YES! Cos I am always open to anything godly and inspiring but as the day got nearer, it’s created a longing in my heart… on Why we need to pray for the MEDIA globally at such a time as this.  As seen from the words of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, it is more important to pray for the media industry now than ever and I am glad to be doing this kingdom work this Sunday, with some amazing leaders in media and faith walk… people who leaves no stone unturned to address the social issues we face as Christians in the marketplace. These people have consistently positioned themselves as Media powerhouses and spiritual giants and I am so grateful for all the good works they are doing in their...

How do you see yourself? - by Pat Obilor

Image
Good morning Sunshine! The other day I was going to post a picture and I find myself scrolling through hundreds and trying to find one good one that looks almost sublime and it got me thinking… We may agree or not, we are sometimes all about the appearance. How we are perceived by others, how we want to be seen and felt… and experienced especially in digital eyes.  So for this reason, consciously or unconsciously, we pre-choose and re-arrange, repurpose and reconstruct our looks, our words and our writings… to present ourselves in a certain lovely, savage and hopefully acceptable way that may arouse affection, admiration and social empathy.  Now, there are so many examples to this assertion but a good one will be how we have hundreds of pictures in our phones, like I described earlier… but when we need to post, we keep scrolling until we find the best one that we think looks good to us, you know… the picture that pachage you, and may get you many likes, comments, algorit...

How to mitigate risk in a Software development project. - By Pat Obilor

Image
Every project task is easy on paper until the practical starts. So for starters, It is important to keep a detailed project implementation plan from the onset of the software development life cycle as well as track its potholes and progression as the software is being developed. The developers, project managers and Analysts etc should not undermine the importance of effective communication, and transparency. The temptation to hide or cover up for challenges encountered is what worsens situation so all stakeholders should be able to work together as a team and review what’s working in their SDLC or not. Testers and developers should also ensure to benchmark the software with other existing ones to assure quality standards of the software. The use of project management, scheduling and analysis tools such as such as Pert, Gannt, CPM and Swot etc should be deployed.  Let me stop here but feel free to share your thoughts how to mitigate software development risks.  Have a beautiful...

The beauty of Art by Pat Obilor

Image
Art in all its forms including literature, poetry, music, role playing, dance and Photography etc is not just about expressing oneself or capturing moments. It is also about reaching into your core to expressing your inner desires, and what your soul feels, as you copulate your feelings in the present and your hope for tomorrow. It is the ability to create a beautiful and mesmerising effect for anyone who sees and experience it.   It is to convey one’s feelings and thoughts in the most sublime way possible. Thus, in the art of photography, a good picture can make you remember your past, set new goals or romanticise about your impending future. When I do Photoshoots or take pictures, I hope that it expresses most part of me that makes up my life and my intentions for living and I want to share that dreamy image with anyone who sees it, to build a priceless and special connection that cannot be quantified or watered down. Hence, the rewards of a true creative is not about mone...

Pat Obilor’s Celebrate Me Now” Annual August Birthday campaign

Image
August Celebrity Birthday   Hello Fam, welcome to the prestigious August! My month of birth!💃 AND Welcome to my annual social love campaign tagged: ‘Celebrate Me Now’. My name is Pat Obilor, the creative lead for the ‘Celebrate Me Now’ challenge which was launched in August 2020 to inspire us all, to celebrate one another while alive. I know we all have our personal struggles and life can be too demanding of our time and resources but still, we tend to be unavailable, less bothered about people that matter until they are gone or until we know they will die soon... When this happens, suddenly, we remember the good they did for us, the smiles they gave us, the recommendations and opportunities they introduced to us... etc.  We begin to bring out pictures and videos of the phenomenal things they did while on earth and try to hide the fact that we did not care or appreciate them enough. While it is not wrong to give accolades to the dead and let the world know how important they ...
